Along with Dr. Howard’s expertise, our team uses the latest dental technology to provide truly unparalleled care in Loveland, CO. From CBCT X-rays to 3D printing and laser dentistry, our investments in technology help Dr. Howard and the Center for Advanced Dentistry deliver best-in-class treatment for each patient who walks into our office.

CBCT X-Ray For 3D Treatment Planning & Diagnosis

CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) is at the heart of what we do at the Center for Advanced Dentistry. Our CBCT scanner is a special type of X-ray machine that creates a 3D image of your jaw, teeth, gums, and overall facial anatomy.

This is done by a special X-ray sensor that spins around your head and takes hundreds of cone-shaped images. These images are “stitched” together by a special software program to create a 3D model of your mouth.

Dr. Howard can use this 3D image to assess your oral health, diagnose dental problems, or plan treatments like tooth extractions and dental implants. The detailed, precise models created by CBCT scans ensure the best possible diagnosis and treatment planning at our office.

Intraoral Scanner For Touch-Free Digital Impressions

With our digital intraoral scanner, goopy and uncomfortable dental impressions are a thing of the past. Intraoral scanners use a tiny camera at the end of a small device to take touch-free images of the inside of your mouth.

Then, similarly to CBCT, a software program can process these images and turn them into a 3D model of your mouth. But while CBCT looks below the surface, intraoral scanners are meant to capture an accurate, detailed 3D image of the outside of your teeth and gums.

With our intraoral scanner, Dr. Howard can quickly take digital “impressions” of your mouth, and use them alongside 3D printing and CEREC technology to create veneers, crowns, and a wide variety of other dental restorations in just one visit to the Center for Advanced Dentistry.

3D Printing For Crowns & Teeth In A Day

3D printing is one of the latest advancements in dental technology. With 3D printing, Dr. Howard can create a wide variety of dental restorations right in our office, reducing the need to work with outside dental labs.

We primarily use 3D printing to create dental crowns, as well as full-arch restorations for All-On-Four “teeth in a day.” With 3D printing, you can walk into our office for treatment and walk out with a brand-new smile. Dr. Howard also uses 3D printing to create surgical guides for implant surgery, which helps ensure the best possible results from your treatment.

CEREC Same-Day Restorations

CEREC is a type of CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design/Manufacturing) technology that allows Dr. Howard to create dental restorations like crowns, bridges, and veneers in just one visit to our office. CEREC uses digital scans, special software, and a 3D milling machine to carve dental restorations out of a solid block of porcelain.

Once he scans your teeth, Dr. Howard can use a software program to design your dental restoration. Then, he will load a tooth-colored block of porcelain into the CEREC machine, which will carve it into the correct shape in just a few minutes.

The result is a durable, long-lasting, and lifelike dental restoration. With CEREC, there’s no need to wear temporary crowns or bridges or schedule multiple visits to restore your smile. You can get a new crown or other dental restoration in a single 1-2 hour visit with Dr. Howard and our team.

Pain-Free Soft Tissue Laser Dentistry

With laser dentistry at our office in Loveland, CO, Dr. Howard can provide treatment with less pain and discomfort, faster recovery times, and better overall results. We use laser tools for periodontal treatment, gum grafting, and a wide variety of other procedures at the Center for Advanced Dentistry.

Laser dental tools work by heating up a very thin, flexible glass tip with a powerful laser. When the tip of the laser touches oral tissue, it vaporizes it on contact. Not only does this remove the tissue, but it also seals up the nerves and blood vessels, dramatically reducing discomfort and bleeding.

Because of this, laser dentistry is much less invasive than using traditional dental tools, especially for gum disease treatment. With laser dentistry at the Center for Advanced Dentistry, you can enjoy better results, much shorter recovery times, and more effective treatment for gum disease.
