What Are Same-Day Dental Crowns?
Dental crowns are custom-made tooth caps placed over your damaged or decayed tooth to restore its look and function. Crowns preserve your tooth’s natural structure and shield against bacteria above the gum line. Our Loveland dentist will ensure your crowns match the shape, size, and color of your teeth for a seamless blend with your smile.
Thanks to our advanced CEREC technology, we can create and place your dental crowns in just one appointment. You won’t have to wait for a dental lab to create and send us your crowns, allowing you to enjoy your healthy, beautiful new smile faster.

Same-Day Dental Crown Process
Initial Consultation
You’ll first attend a consultation with Dr. Howard, where he’ll evaluate your oral health and determine if dental crowns will be the most effective treatment to suit your needs. You can also ask questions and Dr. Howard will be happy to answer all your questions. He’ll also discuss your other treatment options, if necessary.
Creating Your Dental Crowns
If cleared for crowns, Dr. Howard can begin and complete the procedure the same day. He’ll begin by performing a thorough cleaning of your teeth, removing any plaque and unhealthy bacteria that may pose a risk to your oral health.
To prepare your tooth for a crown, Dr. Howard will first administer a local anesthetic to numb the targeted tooth and surrounding area. We also offer dental sedation options to patients with dental phobia so they can relax during their procedure. Once the numbness sets in, our dentist will gently remove a small portion of your tooth’s enamel to make room for a dental crown.
Using our advanced CEREC technology, we’ll take a digital impression of your teeth to use as a blueprint for your dental crown. Dr. Howard will ensure your customized crown matches the appearance of your surrounding teeth for a natural appearance.
Placing Your Dental Crowns
Traditional dental crown methods would require patients to wait weeks for their crowns. However, because we create your custom-made restoration right at our Loveland office, you’ll only need to wait four to 20 minutes.
Once your restoration is ready, Dr. Howard will apply a dental composite to ensure your crown fits securely over your tooth. After making any necessary adjustments to ensure a comfortable and natural-looking restoration, Dr. Howard will finish the crown with a polish. You’re then ready to showcase your new restored smile!
Frequently Asked Questions
The cost of your same-day CEREC dental crowns depends on factors determined in your personalized treatment plan, such as how many crowns you received. We recommend contacting your dental insurance provider beforehand to learn what coverage your plan offers. Dr. Howard will provide you with a cost estimate of your treatment at your initial consultation.
You can visit our financing page to learn more about our affordable and interest-free payment plans. We accept most major credit cards and dental insurance plans, as well as third-party financing through CareCredit, LendingClub, and GreenSky.
With proper care and maintenance, dental crowns made with CEREC technology can last between 10 and 15 years before needing replacements. Along with practicing good oral hygiene, it’s important to avoid grinding or biting down on your teeth to get the most out of your restorations.
We also encourage patients to schedule routine dental visits with our Loveland dentist twice a year. Regular dental appointments will keep your mouth free of unhealthy bacteria and help prolong the life of your dental restorations.
Receiving a dental crown is a virtually painless process. Dr. Howard will administer a local anesthetic beforehand to numb the area so you don’t feel any pain. We also offer sedation dentistry options to patients with dental anxiety or difficulty getting numb with anesthesia alone. With dental sedation, your appointment will be relaxed and stress-free.
It’s normal to experience mild soreness after the numbness fades, but any pain will subside within a few days. You can use cold compresses and over-the-counter pain medications to relieve any discomfort in the meantime
